Redashe are one of the leading retractable hose reel suppliers in the UK.

Due to recent harsher winters, which have seen temperatures drop well below -15°C in rural settings, Redashe were getting increased calls from customers looking for insulated hose reel covers. To help prevent the water residue freezing within the hoses, Redashe contacted Jade Direct for a possible solution.

Working closely with the Redashe design team Jade Direct were able to meet the required design criteria, including;

• Waterproof
• UV resistant
• Easy to install around the support frame
• Hose nozzle to be accessible with the cover in place
• Retraction not restricted
• Inclusion of heating, end user option

PVC Hose Reel Covers

Jade Direct offered a range of PVC polyester coated fabric insulation covers to compliment the range, with a 25mm low-profile high-density needle matt insulation the inclusion of silicone coated glass fabric on the inside face ensured that the cover could include heating when required without changing the design. For ease of assembly the covers are secured in position utilising sewn-in Velcro flaps. With all sewn seams being double stitched this also increases durability for all environments.

The client was extremely happy with the final design & is now promoting the units within their catalogues.

Due to an increasing demand Jade Direct now stock the covers to enable a quick turnaround for a speedy delivery.

Insulated Safety Shower Covers

Hughes Safety showers had developed a new range of portable shower units that could be used where a permanent water supply was not available therefore as an existing client, when they decided to improve the shower offering with the inclusion of an insulated cover, with an option for heating, Jade Direct was the obvious choice.

Working closely with the Hughes design team spearheaded by Alan Ludlaim Jade Direct were able to meet the required design criteria, including

Heated Food Delivery Bags

Sweetheat are the UKs No1 supplier of food delivery bags, focusing on heated bags.

When Sweetheat owner Nazim Maniar came to Jade he already had a great food delivery bag, however he required a heat source to compete in an aggressive marketplace.

Sweetheats offering was for two styles of bags, one catering for pizza delivery and the second was a deeper unit designed to hold curry containers etc.

Jade Direct designers had to consider several aspects, including;-

• Limited space in existing bags
• Heating to maintain 110°C
• Only 12 volt power available
• Capable of plugging into a shop based transformer or a cars cigarette lighter fitting
• Suitable for food products
• Rigorous daily usage

Bespoke Delivery Bags

Working with many heating cable suppliers Jade Direct were able to select the correct heating cable which had the required physical characteristics and heating profile for the application. Once the cable was selected the cable carrier had to be designed, to not only hold the cable but to provide insulation so the heating was directed into the bag and reduce heat leakage along with a method of securing the units within the bags.

A successful solution was agreed and Jade Direct now keep heating units on the shelf for next day supply and we wish Sweetheat all the future success they deserve.

Insulated Hose Reel Cover, Bristol

Following contact from the RNLI Operations Manager from Weston Super Mare, explaining that the air hose used for inflating their RIB had rotted due to the exposed coastal location, they had raised some funding to replace the unit and install a new insulated hose reel cover.

Obviously, they did not want the new equipment to suffer the same fate, so after a search on the internet they found Jade Direct.

Following discussions and the submission of photos of the new hose reel Jade Direct could identify the manufacturer & track down a data sheet which gave the dimensions required.

Following internal conversations with our design team & Management, it was agreed that we would manufacture a reel cover free of charge for this amazing institution and produce it in weatherproof orange fabric as used by the RNLI.

Jade Direct manufactures and supplies hose reel covers to suit all makes of reels which can be provided with internal heating or just insulation depending on your requirement and environment.

Covers can be easily fitted to existing reels and do not have to be removed for everyday usage when fitted to a retractable reel.
Jade Direct work with UK reel suppliers including Redashe and Arco, however as the covers are designed and manufactured at our facility in South Yorkshire we can work with most reel designs.
